Roman Turns 1

I feel like sometimes life just isn't fair - like honestly, it is not acceptable for me to be able to dive into a WHOLE CAKE, but if I was one then, of course, "Sure! In fact, GO FOR IT!" haha, I'm kidding (or am I?) I had such a fun time watching sweet Roman celebrate turning one and being rewarded with a cake ... he however didn't dive in like I personally would. Sprinkle by sprinkle he started to warm up, we even tried to make it a little fun and messy, but unlike me and his mama, Roman must not have a sweet tooth, or not yet anyway ...

The first year is full of so many milestones and me and Kayla have worked through a lot of them together as mama friends! I was happy to celebrate with this cute little guy! Happy Birthday Roman!

Moxham - Lifestyle Shoot

GUYYSSSS ... I am SO excited to show you these images! I've been dreaming and hoping and praying to give people REAL photos - like of their real true life - and its really happening!!! I have such sweet photos of my own family that were taken in our place, in our regular clothes, doing our regular thing and those photos - they just mean the world to me. I know I'll be able to look back on them and remember life as it TRULY was! So that's what I want for others.

I was recently spilling my guts about this dream and some of the inspiration I'd had, at a church event to sweet Alison. She was totally tracking with me, saying that she'd actually been wanting to plan for some new photos of her and her sweet husband, Jordan. So we talked about them - what they like, how they spend their time and we planned for an awesome afternoon at their place with my camera.

It was so exciting for me to see how excited they were for these photos. I did my best to guide them while also allowing them special time with each other. I had them ask each other questions or make confessions and relive memories. They read through a journal they kept when they first married and bought their house. They brought the family together, including all 6 of their sweet animal children, and snuggled on the couch. My favorite moment was watching them sit on the front stoop of their house and each take a moment to pray for their family's time in that home. This is what dreams are made of - love, family, coffee, a blanket on a cold afternoon and someone to snuggle close with and call your own.

Francesco - Baby Journey

Oh my, I was SO excited to meet little Francesco at the beginning of the new year! I got to take Caitlin and Tony's maternity photos back in September and we had such a wonderful time, chasing the sun and skipping on rocks in the creek that night, just capturing that sweet baby bump. Now he is here and adorable, of course! The Serrao family has chosen my new Baby Journey package which is a series of 5 photo sessions to capture so many of the wonderful changes that take place over the course of little Francesco's 1st year. This couple is so easy going and were so sweet just loving on their new little addition.

Theo's 1st Birthday!!!

Once in a while I want to share something more personal with you on this blog. So you get to know me a little better. As I've mentioned in many of my posts, I became a mom recently. And somehow my child has already turned one?! We had such a special day of celebration not only partying over bacon covered donuts, but getting the incredible chance to dedicate our Theo to Jesus at our church. So excuse me while I sit for a second to shed a tear of sincere gratitude for this little gift (his name actually means 'gift of God') and remember with joy what a sweet, special privilege it is to be his mommy. I've learned so much, been pushed far beyond what I thought I was possible of and my heart has expanded in size so much so, I think it might explode.

I love you my little Theo man.

Davis Family - Fall Mini-Session

Tricia and I serve on the same team together at church. I've so enjoyed getting to know her and her sweet family! Lucas and Payton did an amazing job - pure naturals in front of the camera ;) I enjoyed taking photos of Tricia and her husband Mark as well. As I watched them interact I couldn't help but be overwhelmed at the great work God has done in their family and smile at the loving relationship they obviously have with each other.

These Fall scenes are making me long for the sunshine and the Spring! Until then enjoy the smiles from this great family, they're sure to brighten your day!
