Senior Model Styled Shoot

The Kate Blauert Photography Senior Model Program was born this year. Part of my mission is to give people an experience, not just photos. The Senior Model Program is an experience. It is full of parties, desserts, freebies, discounts, hair and makeup, photo shoots, styling and wardrobe and the chance to earn all kinds of goodies, just by telling people about this experience. Another key aspect to my mission is to affirm people in who they are - to help them feel beautiful and to give them daily reminders of their confidence with the photos they receive. I feel so happy to say I believe this program is right on track with what I would like my business to accomplish and who I am as a person. So please enjoy these photos of an amazing experience I had with four lovely girls.

We spent the morning munching on bagels and sipping on coffee, while the incredible Erin Landis prepped the girls for their styled shoot. Not only did Erin do each of the girls' hair and makeup, she also brought many of the accessories/clothing and helped me to style the girls. Erin is a former beauty queen turned fashion blogger - PLEASE go look at her work! She is amazing! I also had some styling help from the adorable LuLu Boutique in Phoenixville. This is where I was able to find much of the wardrobe needed for this event. You MUST go check out their wonderful store and this awesome event they have coming up, as well. They are as sweet and creative as can be at that shop! I love it! So check out our morning getting ready!

After an incredible time of chatting over morning goodies and primping with curling irons and accessories, we headed out for the shoot. Believe it or not, it rained for hours in the morning on this day. But look how we were blessed with sunny skies when it was actually time to shoot! Woohoo! These girls truly do look amazing, right!? You nailed it Haley, Alli, Sarah and Tori!

Colletto // Family Session // Grand Rapids, MI

This summer my husband and I had the AMAZING opportunity to travel. In fact, we traveled across the country. We stayed with friends and family along the way and saw some of the most beautiful parts of America - more on this later!

Our first stop on this trip, was to see my college roommate and her sweet family in Grand Rapids, MI. It is always such a joy to be around friends that truly know you; friends you can be yourself with. You can enjoy meaningful conversations with these people and really, you just feel at home. Heather and Mike are some of those friends for Stephen and I. There love story will bring you to tears and their baby will make you giggle and squeal because her scrunched nose smile is as cute as it gets! It was my privilege to capture their first photos as a family - which just makes these all the more special!

Senior Model Meet'n'Greet

This year Kate Blauert Photography is taking some big steps towards meeting goals and living out dreams. It is definitely a goal and passion of mine to encourage others - to capture their beauty, their true self and their personality on camera and hand it to them, tied up with a nice bow and given with a hug. This is at the heart of my new KBP Senior Model Program.

Do you remember when you were a senior in high school? The anticipation, soaking up of memories and the excitement as you look ahead. It truly is a milestone year in life - celebrating all you have accomplished and preparing yourself to be an adult. I think it SO important and special to remember this time, and in what better way than with photos?!

I love throwing parties. I also love having an excuse to buy fresh flowers and get out of my craft supplies. So to invite some sweet girls to be a part of my Senior Model Program - I did just that! On this night these girls and their moms heard all about the FREE styled shoot, the hair and makeup, the wardrobe, the discounts and the referral rewards they could have, all if they became a KBP Senior Model! So over raspberry lemonade and macaroon cookies we got to know each other and became really excited about all the Senior Model fun to come!

We had a lovely time together that night and I was excited to sign up 4 beautiful Senior Models for my new program. I will be introducing you to them soon - stay tuned!

Welcome! Pull up a chair and stay a while!

It is so thrilling to finally be typing up my first blog post! It has been a dream and a goal and something I have been working towards for quite some time. Most good things in life don't come without lots of hard work and lots of 'heart' work. What you're seeing now of my site, is the start - the meat is here, my new brand is visible and the site is simple and sleek. I have dreams of 'pumping up the volume' so to speak; of adding graphics and some color. But that will all come in time and will take its own dreams and hard work. What I'm learning is that 'it doesn't have to perfect to be beautiful'. I started reading this wonderful book by Myquillyn Smith of The Nester blog, called The Nesting Place and this is her motto. It seemed oh so perfect for me as I continue to progress and strive towards running a well-oiled business.

Since this is my first real blog post on a brand new site, I figure I should catch everyone up as to who I am and what I do.

• My name is Kate Blauert and I am a photographer.
• I started shooting almost 5 years ago and I am self taught.
• I love to shoot on location in natural light.
• I have worked all kinds of odd jobs as I have pursued photography part-time for 4 1/2 of these 5 years.
• I am so blessed and happy to now work solely on my photography business.
• I have been mentored by the amazingly talented Char of Char Co.
• I love to shoot one-on-one, to really get to the heart of who someone is with my camera.
• I also truly enjoy capturing the love shared amongst a family, a couple and of parents welcoming a new child.

• I have been married 4 years to the handsome and hilarious, Stephen Blauert.
• We love to spend time walking and playing with our sweet puppy Jackson.
• I spend way too much time watching Friends, HGTV and Chopped
• Photography is just one way I like to express my creativity; I love to craft, decorate our house, and attempt all kinds of Pinterest Projects. (key word: attempt)
• I love Jesus and am so happy I have a relationship with Him. All my work is because of Him and for His glory.
• Oh and if you really want to make my day, bring me a nice big bowl of birthday cake frozen yogurt. (I know it's like I'm a five year old, but I'm ok with it.)

Well, now that you know me a little bit better I hope you will peruse my site and get a glimpse of my work. Photography is so special, ya know? I just love giving people memories. When you invest in capturing a specific time in life, I believe it enriches your everyday. With sweet smiles and moments of love, hanging on your wall how can you not be reminded of your blessings and be affirmed in your own self?! That is my mission. That I could capture you - creatively, essentially you and the ones you love.
